Since that first sighting of eight turkeys there have been five more of
five, eight, four, seven and six turkeys. During the last visit they
came into the yard from the field, and I snuck out the back door with
my camera. I crept back and forth on the back deck without seeing the
turkeys I'd seen from the windows. Then I followed tracks 'round to the
front and there they were. I got these photos and then imagine how I
felt when I discovered the tracks went right up to the front door with
it's full length glass windows. My son saw the turkey through the door
from inside at a distance of about twelve feet, and I missed it!

These four stayed on the other side of the river while the other two
came across, around the house on either side and into the front yard.

This one got nervous enough to decide to fly, and I tried to get a picture
of it before it got away. I guess I didn't really succeed. It didn't fly
more than a few feet. Both turkeys eluded me in the sparse little trees.
All I found were tracks headed back to the river.
